Did you know that three quarters of the nearly 1.5 million known animal species are insects? These small animals can be found in an incredible variety all over the world. They live in meadows and forests, in the mountains and on glaciers, but also in fresh water and in deserts. Insects can adapt perfectly to their environment by using special camouflage or other physical characteristics. They can also communicate with each other using scent or tapping signals, for example. Some insects can perform incredible feats. An ant, for example, is able to carry up to forty times its own weight.
Insect projects in kindergarten
How many legs do insects have? How does a caterpillar become a butterfly? Why does a grasshopper hop? Children have countless questions when it comes to insects. Based on the knowledge that children have already acquired in nature, projects on various insects can be planned in kindergarten.
