6 tips for a tidy classroom

A tidy classroom creates both a pleasant teaching and learning atmosphere. This increases the enjoyment of teaching and learning. Therefore, motivate yourself and your class to keep the classroom tidy on a regular basis. With these 6 tips, keeping the classroom clean and tidy is very easy:

1. Introduce tidying up duty: Any tasks that arise can be taken over by your pupils and make organisation easier for you.

2. Have useful utensils in the classroom if possible, e.g. dustpan and broom, bin bags and kitchen roll.

3. Provide as much storage space as possible e.g. shelves, cabins, storage box, drawer boxes etc.

4. Each student cleans their own place.

5. Put everything back in the right place after usage and sort it.

6. Consciously plan time in the week for tidying up: the longer you put off tidying up, the longer it will take you.
