Motivation/Reward board: using it correctly
What you should bear in mind when using reward boards with children: The reward chart should only be used to reward children for positive social behaviour. Focus on positive behaviour and reward to encourage children in their behaviour. For each positive behaviour, for example for completed homework, the child moves up one square. Good feedback motivates pupils to participate more and thus enriches the lessons.
It is definitely worth it for teachers to purchase a reward chart! This allows you to give each child feedback for their behaviour without wasting valuable lesson time. For example, "The Smiley Race Family" in our TimeTEX shop is a great points system for children's education!
When the children reach the finish line, they should receive a particularly creative reward. Homemade clock customers are a popular option, but praise rosettes or medals are also conceivable. The children can then proudly show these to their parents. Or simply let yourself be inspired by the varied praise material.
Our magnetic motivation board "Smiley Race" is also perfect for larger classes. The names of the pupils can be written on the left-hand side using a non-permanent pen. This means that the reward board can be reused by teachers every year. There is a magnetic smiley face for each child, which they can move forward themselves. The "smiley race" is divided into different sections, each with motivating slogans.
Motivation board: magnetic & versatile
The reward board is magnetic and can therefore be easily attached to the board. The scope of delivery includes the board and various magnets, printed with a smiley face or an animal depending on the model. The magnetic motivation board is extra large and therefore always clearly visible to pupils in the classroom. The advantage of this reward system is that the pupils always have their current score in front of them, which encourages them to work better and shows them in which area they can improve.
The reward system is most effective when it is properly established and clearly communicated in advance. It must be clear to the children what they will be rewarded for.
he motivation board can be used in a wide range of ways. At school, for example, it can be used to praise positive social behaviour or completed homework. Not only at school, but also at home, the reward board can be used as a great points system in children's education. At home, for example, parents can praise their children for completing household tasks. This can be used within the family to encourage children to take on simple household tasks. The motivation board reinforces the child's positive behaviour in a playful way.
